Death notice in newspaper

Ft. Scott MonitorFt. Scott KansasGreat grandfather?

I found this, but obviously it's not about the John Edgar Wren, Sr. I'm looking for. There were other JE Wren's.  http://www.newspapers.com/clip/538356/ft_scott_monitorft_scott/

Does anyone know if there is any death notice anywhere about my grandfather? I haven't been able to find one.

What happened in 1932?

Sept 26, 1932Amarillo Globe-Times p 1 Another J.E. Wren...Sept 29, 1932. Pop was 10. His father had died when he was 8.

I'd always been told that pop's dad had died when pop was about 8 years old, but I was never told the cause of death. Then I found this online last spring. It was in the paper about the time that dad would have been about that age. http://www.newspapers.com/clip/538373/another_je_wrensept_29_1932_pop/

Does anyone know more about this? Did pop's dad really die then, or did the family just disown him?

Just about the last conversation I ever had with pop was when he was in Porter's Hospital for the last time, just before he died November 15, 1979.

I asked him why he'd never told me anything about his father.

"I guess I've always resented him," pop answered. " I had it pretty rough when I was a little guy, and I always thought my life would have been a lot better back then if he'd fought it a little harder."

Does anyone know anything more about pop's dad? If so, please post what you know here so everyone can see, or call me at (303)861-1447, if you miss me you can leave a complete, confidential message there, I'm the only one with the code to the voice mail box.

Thanks.
